- Device information: IMEI numbers and hardware identifiers for your Teltonika units.
3. Purpose of collection
We collect and use this data for primary purposes related to our service, such as:
- Real-time tracking: Providing the live “Mission Control” map view.
- Security & recovery: Enabling “Virtual Guard” alerts and theft recovery features.
- Reporting: Generating FBT-compliant logbooks and driver behaviour analytics.
4. Consent and use
- Express consent: By using our platform, you provide express consent for the collection of telemetry data.
- Third-party drivers: It is your responsibility to ensure that any person driving a vehicle equipped with a Raptor Trace AU device has been notified and has provided consent to be tracked.
- Visible notice: In accordance with many Australian state laws (e.g. NSW and ACT), you must display a visible notice on the vehicle indicating it is subject to GPS tracking.
5. Data storage and security
- Location: Your data is stored securely on servers located in Australia (Sydney region) to ensure low latency and local compliance.
- Protection: We use industry-standard encryption and security protocols to protect data from unauthorised access or disclosure.
- Retention: We will retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by Australian law (typically 7 years for financial records).
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your data. We may disclose information only:
- With your express consent.
- Where required or authorised by law (e.g. providing data to police during a confirmed theft recovery).
7. Notifiable data breaches
In the event of an “eligible data breach” that is likely to result in serious harm, we are required to notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme.
